सीटी (CT) का फुल फॉर्म

सीटी, कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी का संक्षिप्त नाम, एक चिकित्सा परीक्षा / प्रक्रिया है जो प्रकृति में गैर-आक्रामक है और जो हमारे शरीर की क्रॉस-सेक्शनल छवियों के निर्माण के लिए विशेष एक्स-रे उपकरण का उपयोग करती है। इसे CAT (कंप्यूटेड एक्सियल टोमोग्राफी) या कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। सीटी की प्रत्येक क्रॉस-सेक्शनल छवि इमेज किए गए व्यक्ति के एक हिस्से को दर्शाती है। इन छवियों को फिर विभिन्न नैदानिक और चिकित्सीय उद्देश्यों के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी स्कैन हमारे शरीर के किसी भी हिस्से पर किया जा सकता है। वे नैदानिक उद्देश्यों, उपचार योजना, स्क्रीनिंग और पारंपरिक उद्देश्यों जैसे कई उद्देश्यों के लिए किए जाते हैं। अधिकांश कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी स्कैन आउट पेशेंट मोड में किए जाते हैं।

कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी सिस्टम की कार्य प्रक्रिया:

सबसे पहले, रोगी को कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी इमेजिंग सिस्टम के एक गोलाकार उद्घाटन के अंदर ले जाया जाता है, जो उसे मोटराइज्ड टेबल पर रखता है।
फिर, सिस्टम के अंदर डिटेक्टर असेंबली और एक्स-रे स्रोत को रोगी के चारों ओर घुमाने के लिए बनाया जाता है।
एक्स-रे उन डिटेक्टरों द्वारा पंजीकृत होते हैं जो एक्स-रे स्रोत के विपरीत पंक्तियों में मौजूद होते हैं। ये एक्स-रे स्नैपशॉट के रूप में रोगियों के शरीर से गुजरते हैं जिसके परिणामस्वरूप छवियों का निर्माण होता है।
कंप्यूटर रोगी के आंतरिक अंगों और ऊतकों के सभी अद्वितीय स्नैपशॉट को एकल/एकाधिक क्रॉस-अनुभागीय छवियों में पुनर्निर्माण करता है।

कंप्यूटेड टोमोग्राफी (सीटी) स्कैन के उपयोग:

चिकित्सकों को रोगों, आघात, या किसी भी असामान्यता के निदान में सहायता करता है
इंटरवेंशनल/चिकित्सीय तरीकों की योजना बनाने और मार्गदर्शन करने में उनकी मदद करता है
चिकित्सकों को कैंसर के लिए चिकित्सा (कैंसर उपचार) जैसी विभिन्न उपचारों की सहूलियत की निगरानी करने में सहायता करता है।

सीटी स्कैन से जुड़े जोखिम:

रोगियों पर आयनकारी विकिरण के संपर्क में आने से बाल रोगियों में कैंसर का खतरा बढ़ जाता है। यद्यपि सीटी स्कैन युवा रोगियों में कैंसर के खतरे को बढ़ाता है, यदि उचित एक्सपोजर तकनीकों का पालन किया जाए, तो ऐसे रोगियों में कैंसर की संभावना कम हो जाती है। इसके अलावा, इसके लाभ/उपयोग इसके जोखिमों से अधिक हैं।
